As part of Aether Soup, a small indie studio, I worked as a 3D animator on the oceanic-themed dungeon-crawler “Resurface.” My responsibilities as a 3D Animator working on Resurface include creating animations strips for a variety of characters, preparing the models, rig, and animations for use in-engine, and preparing models, materials, and animations for review by the team.

Resurface, a story about overcoming trauma, takes place underwater environments, each based on a certain feeling or sensation. Working on Resurface requires animating a variety of imaginary sea creatures with vastly different rigs. Movement for each creature is made with a mix of study of real-life sea creatures and an adherence to the feeling of the environment in which they reside.
